Simple Tenses

Definition:

Rules and Examples:

Simple Present

  • Rule: Subject + base form of the verb (add ‘s’ or ‘es’ for third person singular).
  • Example: She writes a letter.

Simple Past

  • Rule: Subject + past form of the verb.

Simple Future

  • Rule: Subject + will/shall + base form of the verb.
