✏️ What Is the Simple Present Tense?
The simple present tense is one of the most commonly used verb tenses in English. We use it to describe:

→ She drinks coffee every morning. -
Facts or general truths
→ Water boils at 100°C. -

→ The bus leaves at 7 p.m. -
Feelings, likes, and opinions

Basic Rules of Simple Present Tense
✅ Rule 1: Use the base form of the verb with I, you, we, they
I walk to school.
They play football.
✅ Rule 2: Add -s or -es to verbs when the subject is he, she, it
She walks to school.
He goes to work.
It rains often in April.
Tip:

Add -es to verbs ending in -ss, -sh, -ch, -x, or -o.
→ He watches TV. -
If the verb ends in -y after a consonant, change -y to -ies
→ She carries a bag.
